I used to say to you,
You the first thought of my day
And the last of nights too.
Even though, as of today,
the claim stands the same as it may.
But the very nature of thoughts is to change rapidly,
Yet in my case, my love, it did rather steadily,
for you gave me reasons enough,
to fall out of place, out of love.
Yet my affection remained constant,
Even when you grew distant.
But patience and hope seem to be limited.
Love into apathy gets pivoted.
And before it turns into numbness,
It's fair to cast away this darkness.
Alas, it saddens me deeply,
Perhaps for you, I wasn't worthy.
