Poetry: Woman of Substance

A long road she took, and many offended,

seldom taking that direction where the paths bended.

A woman, a woman of substance she was.

Many mistakes she made, which she later amended,

keep walking on, did she, even when the road ended.

A woman, a woman of substance she was.

Her name was your name, but she was called many a name.

yet bother, not she, on and on went her game,

A woman, a woman of substance she was.

She was rock; she was river,

a storm that stopped never,

she was sky and was fire,

riding higher and higher.

A woman, a woman of substance she was.

She was You, You are she,

all you need is to break free.

Tear those chains and railing,

go on, break that ceiling,

You are she, like the sea,

unfathomably deep, endless boundaries,

What stops You is You,

so transform You in She.

A woman, a woman of substance, You are.
